Your answer illustrates a great point and an additional one you didn’t intend. And I think it explains part of the reason there is such a discussion about this. Men in general will look at this hypothetical in a much more realistic way, Imagining an actual physical situation. Women I think will look at this in a more metaphorical way which is the way it’s intended.
