You sound unhappy about being a software developer so it’s probably a good idea to do something else. You aren’t alone I know lots of people who shouldn’t be doing it and probably went into it for all the wrong reasons to begin with. They seem mad all the time and are just awful people to work with. But really those are the people you are speaking to.

Some of us love the challenge, and know how to cut through and ignore the bureaucratic BS. We know how to take our jobs seriously enough to get them done but not seriously enough that they consume us.

Fundamentally it’s a job, just like any other. If you don’t enjoy core aspects of the job don’t do it. Unfortunately many people learn far too late after graduating boot camp or college that writing code is only one small part of being a software developer.
