You keep saying "The West" as if western powers are the ones that betrayed Ukraine. This verbiage completely glosses over the not insignificant detail that Russia was one of the signers and chief beneficiary of the Budapest Memorandum. It also wasn't "The West" it was only two out of a dozen countries that would be considered part of "The West" and not a single multi national organization like NATO or the EU. You can't say "The West made a promise..." because it wasn't "The West" it was the UK, the US and Russia.
