You are way overstating the costs involved. I wish more people really understood how affordable this kind of general life assistance is because it can change your lifestyle and at the same time provide a good job. First, no one needs or hires a 24/7 assistant. At various points in my life, single or married, I have hired assistants that were some combination of executive assistant, nanny, house keeper, driver, bookkeeper, personal shopper etc. Some even lived in my home part time. Depending on needs and location you can expect to pay from as little as 12k a year for part time help (even less in some areas) and up to around 60k for a dedicated assistant in a major metropolitan area. So no, it’s not six figures. No it isn’t cheep but at some level it is perfectly affordable for many two income homes and there are plenty of agencies and people out there who want to this kind of work.
