You are complaining about people pretending to be other people as part of a fantasy play-acting. 🤦‍♂️

Seriously you suck. Let people have their fun let them have their fantasy. Who are you, who is anyone, to critize them for what their fantasy involves?

Personally I think the whole LARP thing is ridiculous and you all look very silly. Although that is part of what can make it entertaining to watch.

That said, what I find even more ridiculous than a bunch of grown adults buying expensive costumes and running around fantasy play-acting is someone taking it so seriously they feel the need to bring this inane level of social wokeism into it, trying to ruin other people's fun.

This continuous and accustatory call of "appropriation" in all areas of society is the bastion cry of people who don't understand the fundamentals about culture and how it spreads adapts and changes. You don't own culture. Your culture doesn't even own your culture. Because it is not a fixed thing and it's not a thing that any one group gets say this is what it is or is not. Because the moment you do that, Bam! you're then just talking about a different culture.

So maybe just stop seeing this as Japanese culture and start seeing it for what it is. A unique culture in the LARPing community that takes inspiration from many different cultures including those of Japan and China.
