Wow just wow. You completely do not understand and miss the point of plug-in-hybrids. They are great for both short and very long trips precisely because they are they way they are. They can typically handle the average daily commute or trips around town on battery only while simultaneously allowing highly efficient long distance road trips without having to worry about charging stations.
