“We” are doing no such thing. I’m with you on your basic premise that things are kind of messed up but this is complete BS.

People choose what kind of work they do and if they don’t like it then re-skill, move or whatever is neede to do something else. People have agency in their own lives. They decide what is and is not important. Unfortunately a frightening number of people don’t prioritize, solving their own problems over complaining about their problems and blaming them on “society” or whoever else they wanna blame at that moment.
