Using a TV for a monitor in a pinch is one thing but I would never recommend it as a long term solution. For most people a large TV will be an ergonomic pain as even new OLED TVs are not designed to be viewed from the distances that most people would use them as monitors. Monitors are pretty much just as inexpensive as TVs so there is really no need to settle for using a TV
