This might have been ok advice 15 years ago when LEDs were still a bit pricey but there is absolutely zero reason to even consider CFL bulb retrofits in 2024. They offer zero benefits over LED bulbs on any axis of comparison, cost, energy, color, longevity, safety, environmental. The only place people should continue to use CFLs or regular fluorescent lights are in fixtures that were designed for them.
