This entire idea is idiotic on the face of it. Trying to live a “European” lifestyle (wtf that is) while living in the U.S. (or the reverse of trying to live an “American” lifestyle while living in Europe) no matter how you slice it it is just culturally myopic. All of this some how presumes that there is some kind of cultural superiority that one way to live is better than another. I feel very sorry for anyone who thinks this way and can’t adapt to the places they live and just enjoy the culture they find themselves in. This entire mentality that some foreign culture from wherever is better than the local culture that already exists is basically just colonialism with extra steps.
