This entire argument makes no sense. If the work is needed to be done by people then to cover the extra shifts companies will have to hire more people not less. Or if they don’t want to hire more people, pay overtime. (And before someone brings up the whole “but what about salary workers” that’s bs because salary works negotiate salaries with these base hours taken into account.) If the work is redundant anyway it makes no difference it’s just another example of a company eliminating a bullshit job. Either way the argument is nonsensical.
