The important thing isn’t pretending to be dumb. It’s having empathy and understanding that everyone has unique experiences and therefore unique knowledge. You should never pretend to know something you don’t but you also shouldn’t pretend to not know something you do. Neither is genuine and people can sense that intuitively. The key is humility not “being dumb”
