Saying they aren’t compatible is very misleading. They all have their nuances but generally all implement ANSI SQL-92 consistently and always have. So they are definitely compatible with the standard (Especially as written, there were some differences that arose from how the standard was interpreted because it was unintentionally ambiguous in places.) Anything beyond the standard and at the implementation detail level they do differ but those things were never specified as part of the standard.
