Personally, I think the idea of Apple providing hardware that is performant for a long long period of time is brilliant. People have been getting wise to the culture of cheap junk products for a long time. Of course, I might be biased I used my 2012 Retina for a decade and only really felt I needed to upgrade to an M2 after Apple stopped updating the OS.
