No one should ever be “comfortable” making mistakes. I would never hire someone who thought this way.
Making and owning mistakes should be very uncomfortable. Owning your mistakes is not at all about comfort.
The ability to own a mistake despite how uncomfortable it is, is the entire point. That shows self awareness, maturity and respect for the team.
No one accomplishes much by being “comfortable”. You have to be prepared to have uncomfortable conversations or you are just letting the world take you for a ride.
