Let’s not pretend that LiDAR is a BYD innovation. All car manufacturers except Tesla are using these systems even on cars that are not electric or self-driving. It’s technology that has been around for decades. Musk’s idiotic notion to remove it and rely solely on visual cameras was just another demonstration of his “genius” at work. Therefore BYD’s inclusion isn’t some kind of master take down move it just following the norm of what everyone else is doing.
