I’m kind of tired of this misguided narrative that vehicle manufactures are “anti-electric” it is old and inaccurate because these companies aren’t and never have been. They are however “pro-money” and were only ever going to produce vehicles people would buy. The fact of the matter is the public were never going to accept the electric vehicles that could be produced before the last decade or so. The article you cite even mentions this “The reason EVs are taking over is that the technology improved”. That’s it, they are finally commercially viable because they are technically viable. The other nonsense about charging stations has always been a know issue, it’s simple the network effect.

No one wanted a vehicle that took 8 hours to charge only went 150 miles and you had drive 20 miles out of your way to charge. There was zero market for that. Now a vehicle that can charge in 20 minutes and goes 300 miles and you can find chargers for more conveniently, that’s a product you can sell.
