I would expect to see very high numbers for Apple Silicon once Apple ends support for Intel MacBooks. Early adopters and those that can afford it have already switched those that haven’t are the kind that squeeze every bit of useful life out of their hardware before upgrading. They will need a push such as Apple dropping support. This is how I was when I finally switched from a 2012 gen-1 Retina to a M1 in 2022.
But that 2012 Retina MacBook… for the most part is still as fast and workable as it was in 2012.
