I think you miss one important thing. There is literally no benefit and nothing to be gained by China invading Taiwan. That’s not to say China couldn’t, maybe it could, but Xi isn’t an idiot and the down side is far to great considering that it benefits China in no particularly tangible way and could be a catalyst to wide spread destabilization in China.
