I suspect most polymaths would disagree with #11. Reading for no specific project or purpose is itself a purpose. The exposure to ideas and areas of interest that comes from the undirected exploration of knowledge is essential to growth. Sure deep learning is slow and focused but not all learning is or should be deep. Reading for no specific purpose is often the source of incredible inspiration. I mean, after all, I read your article for no specific purpose.
