I see the parallels in the fact that just like the Nazis were able to manipulate the left and the communists into exacerbating the troubles of the Weimar Republic, MAGA and the Republicans are doing the same to you. What is even worse is that you don’t even comprehend how you have manipulated.
Your overt outrage and reactionary politics are exactly what far right extremist groups want. And they have manipulated you into it. You want to stop the MAGA movement? Stop giving them fuel, stop giving them oxygen and stop living in a bubble and stop being naive and arrogant about the righteousness of your politics. That kind of thinking is exactly why we ended up with HRC the most reviled woman in democratic politics as the nominee 8 years ago, (who so arrogantly thought she would win she didn’t even go to Wisconsin, a liberal leaning state, and then lost it) it’s why RBC didn’t resign while Obama was in office, it’s why Obama only appointed 1/3 of the federal appellate judges he could have, it’s why prioritizing progressive social issues while neglecting economic ones have pushed large swaths of the population towards neo-fascism. It’s why the entire Midwest has been largely lost to democrats for the foreseeable future. It’s why despite having control over congress and the White House multiple times over the last 50 years the democrats never once passed a law or amendment to institutionalize abortion rights. It’s why the left invents horribly unappealing messaging like “Black Lives Matter” and “Defund The Police”
You want to stop them. No Move to a contested district in swing state and vote. Become a pole worker. Demand your state legislators put an end to gerrymandering by changing state constitutions. Demand the liberals you elect actually put forth the effort to fix the system instead of ingratiating themselves into it.
Most importantly stop acting like a democrat and start strategizing like a republican. Stop spreading the lie that the U.S. is in decline because that’s exactly what MAGA wants everyone to believe. (And it’s not supported by the facts)
Have an actual narrative that is appealing then wrap that in clear concise messaging that doesn’t ruin it. Spend the money on the ground game. Don’t ignore states. Stop imagining that your politicians are going to have some ground well of grass roots support. Stop focusing on issues that the majority of the country does not care about.
You want to stop MAGA, then stop giving the democratic leadership cover for the stupid and short sighted decisions they have made over the last 50 years.
