I recently worked with a guy who was all of these combined. I think he knew the jig was up when I asked about his approach and casually mentioned that he would have to figure out how to decode a sha256 hash. I just said uhuh yeah. I can only assume that that night he researched one way hashing because he quit the next day before standup. Wasn’t sad to see him go and we’ve spent two months slowly finding that almost every bug we have is in some code he last worked on.
