I might be a bit of jerk but there are so many ways to respond to this.
“There are no low value tasks only low value people. “
or
“It’s disappointing that you cannot see the value in this task, I expected more from you.”
or
“It’s not your job to determine what is a high or low value task”
or
“This is a useful and valuable task to me so are you implying that I am low value?”

or my personal favorite

“I’m not asking you to do it, telling you to do it because it is your job. But that is a good idea, after you are done you can go pick up coffee for everyone.”
