I had an VP level job in IT at a rather large financial company after repeatedly being told that everything being a meeting was just “part of company culture” (because I kept trying to change it). I finally gave up and quit. It was mess of people meeting to talk about work instead of doing work. The right people were never in the room and rarely did anyone even know what was the point of any of it
