I grew up in one of these sundown counties although I didn’t know it at the time. I don’t live there anymore but I’ve watched it over the decades slowly get better. First comes the younger more educated and progressive whites ( probably still conservatives ) along with Asians and eventually blacks feel safe. Now decades later as the good ol boys have died off when I go back I see at least some faces of color. There is hope for some of these towns it just might take a really long time
