I find the entire idea that people are offended by cultural *adaptation* offensive in its own right. You don’t own your culture. Your “people” don’t own your culture. Culture is the provenance of everyone. It grows adapts merges and is a messy conglomerate of everything that has come before.
People who scream “cultural appropriation” are luddites. Labeling something you don’t like as “cultural appropriation” is just a way to gloss over and hide bigotry behind a glaze of indignation.
