I disagree I don’t think this is “‘Most” developers. Some for sure but most developers learn this lesson very very early on in their career to never take requirements as given at face value. Knowing how to gather requirements is a fundamental part of software development if you don’t figure out how to do it effectively very early on you won’t be doing it for very long and you certainly will not advance past coder.
