I believe in crypto and blockchain technology but, for heavens sake stop comparing crypto coins to gold. It is time for this very stupid analogy to die. It just makes people sound like fools and snake-oil salesmen. The two are nothing alike. Every time I see this analogy I suspect that the writer understands neither cryptography algorithms or physics on the most basic of levels.

Gold is one of the rarest stable elements with unique properties created only in depths of the largest stars and distributed only when those stars explode. Gold is NOT a “social construct” it’s rarity is not defined by any man made algorithm but by the fundamental laws of physics. It has utility well beyond its use as means to conduct business or store wealth.
