Hamas isn’t trying to “protect” anyone. Terrorists don’t protect people. Terrorists are the state equivalent of children throwing temper tantrums because they can’t get their way. They have no real rational goals and even if they were to accomplish everything they say they want they wouldn’t just stop and go become normal people. No, this is about revenge and inflicting fear and pain brought about by deep rooted feelings of humiliation and inadequacy.
