GenX as a whole will never and has never "fought" (or supported) anything because that would require giving a shit. You don't understand the generation you are writing about. That is not the spirit of GenX.

GenX is the generation that is all about getting the work done, while every other generation goes about moaning about all the BS problems they have invented and created for the world. GenX will not waste its time fixing the problems created by baby boomers and the silent generation for millennials and Zoomers. Who has time for that kind of crap?

You might be an outlier in your view, but you don't understand the generation's ethos. The fact that you wrote this article and said unironically, "...it's an issue that white Gen Xers can no longer ignore" , clearly demonstrates you don't understand just how much this generation doesn't care what people say or just how good it is at ignoring things.

GenX is very good at ignoring things. It is a defining characteristic of the generation. But again, I don't think you "get" the generation at all. GenX doesn't pretend these issues don't exist. GenX has always known they exist. GenX just does not care. GenX doesn't feel any obligation to fix the world's problems and no amount of trying to guilt them into caring by claiming they normalize bad behavior will change that. Because, again, they don't care. You are trying to talk to a generation that has built its entire identity as a generation on ignoring people and not giving a shit.
