Even rooted in facts it is still an opinion. It’s your opinion. You are not every gay man and you do not speak for all gay men. I do not think all gay me got together and elected you as their spokesperson. Even if they had, and even if all gay me feel the same way, it would still be an opinion. Because feelings are not facts. Personal feelings are not facts. The fact that have them is a fact. The way you feel can be supported by facts. But feeling something to be true does not make it a fact for anyone other than you.
And here is why… there are lots of people who “feel” that gay people shouldn’t exist. They “feel” threatened by the existence of gay people. Are you prepared to say that their feelings are facts?
Yeah so just stop with that nonsense. Because this is the exact same BS kind of reasoning and language that right wing skinheads use to beat up gay and trans people.
You can have your opinion, that you feel unsafe certain places, and no one can tell you it’s not valid. But that doesn’t mean all gay men feel unsafe in those places and it doesn’t mean those places are inherently unsafe for gay men. Actual facts, like statistics, might indicate that these places are unsafe but your “feeling” that way doesn’t play any part in making it a fact.
