At this point, in 2024, those forums have been around for decades. The “discussion” stopped being interesting a long time ago when the same tired DOA ideas kept resurfacing time and time again. FOS is valuable but inherently risky and that is it. And it’s because the other side of it comes with little or no reward and that’s just something people have to learn to accept. As much as the “dev community” likes to think it can solve or engineer a way out of any problem, I don’t think there is one here beyond taking responsibility for the code you use.
