Absolutely false. The Sahara desert formation was due to climate change due to how the tilt of the earth progresses over 26,000 years in relation to the earth-sun perihelion and aphelion. It had nothing to do with man made activities. During the last wet cycle, the Sahara had a wet monsoon season similar to south east Asia. The shift in weather patterns due to this climate change reduced and the completely cut off this annual atmospheric river. Then everything dried up and the Sahara desert formed
